Google bought sketchUp
Although this has nothing to do with IBM and Domino it’s a very interesting joint that took place when Google bought SketchUp. I won’t present Google but for anyone that’s interested that SketchUp is abolutely one of the most brilliant softwares I’ve come across. It’s a 3D sketching software that makes it a brief getting a new kitchen, building or the garden in a rotate and zoomable sketch.Google is one of my favourite companies these days and I just can’t wait to see what the brilliant brains in those two companies will come up with… Gosh, this year will be interesting! From the press release:
WHAT’S NEW?
Well, about the biggest thing ever: we’ve been Googled. That’s right, Google Inc. has acquired @Last Software… so you might have just spit your coffee all over your keyboard, or you’re rolling your eyes thinking this is another one of my April Fool’s jokes. Believe me, we’re still having a hard time believing it ourselves, but it’s real — we are now Google!

Stumble It!
Jocke, You probably know already that Sketchup has a plugin for publishing building models directly to Google Earth. That is already cool.
“With the SketchUp Google Earth plugin, you can use Google Earth to view 3D models in their real-world context. You’re no longer limited to just viewing the world through satellite imagery; now you can build on the tapestry provided by Google Earth.
Whether you want to create presentations of proposed developments, share a building you’ve designed, or view a model in context, you’ll find the combination of SketchUp and Google Earth provide you with a great venue to express your creativity.”
